CLAUDE MEYLAN

In the depths of the Swiss Jura and more precisely in L’Abbaye, a typical village in the luxury watch making Valley (the “Vallée de Joux”) where great winters gave birth to great ideas and achievements in time keeping, the family company Claude Meylan maintains proudly the watch making know-how inherited from their ancestors.
Meylan is one of the great names which stamped the expansion of watchmaking : In the mid-18th century, Samuel Olivier Meylan from the Chenit District and Abraham-Samuel Meylan were initiated into the mystery of this art in Rolle and Fleurier. Once they were back home, both began to benefit from their acquired knowledge : Samuel-Olivier Meylan manufactured the first pocket watch fitted with a disc-musical mechanism and then, the
passion for movements became a family tradition.
Claude Meylan grew further the inherited talents and imposed a new interpretation of time by “stripping” and decorating each and every possible elements of the movement. The “Squelette” art is pushed towards new horizons. Claude Meylan enjoys presenting new shapes and harmonies on bridges, wheels, and gear trains to express a new vision of time while establishing a new art of sculpted pieces.
The sharp and efficient Claude Meylan team is a family company with deep and sound values. Successive generations with the same motivation : their passion for movements, watch making and overall for ultimate details. LIONNE Collection
It runs from the top of our mount, howls and rages in front of our workshops before being let go to join the lake. LIionne is our river, and as its name indicates, it is at the same time a mother, a huntress and a capital element of the Claude Meylan family.
L'ABBAYE Collection
